Day 26: Profitmart PLR Blueprint

Today I’m going to look at how we can apply the PLR strategy to a Profitmart site. I’m going to go over each point of the blueprint and talk about some implementation options.

The end result of this effort would be to build up a mailing list for your particular niche and possibly to get some affiliate sales from your web pages. Once you have a targeted mailing list you can offer them related products, sell advertising in your newsletters, etc.  You have probably heard that “the money is in the list”. Building up your own list is one of the fundamental building blocks of success in internet marketing.

1) Do some research on your niche topic

Use the free keyword tools listed at http://www.profitmuse.com/Resources.html. You can also refer back to my previous post from day 3 to watch the niche exploration video. Here’s a link to it.

2) Buy a series of PLR articles on your specific niche topic

You can take a look at the packages on http://www.niche-content-packages.com or do a search for your niche + “PLR” in Google. A site that has links to some great PLR membership sites as offering PLR rewriting services is www.plrrewriting.com.

What you want to look for here is a limited edition of PLR articles. You could buy some of these $2 packs that are floating around the net but the quality is usually pretty lame. I haven’t looked into this PLR rewriting service yet but it also sounds very promising.

You could also look at getting some articles ghostwritten for your niche. This is going to be a bit more expensive but might be well worth the money. You would then know that the content is unique and you could have it written specifically for your niche. Instead of paying $97 for 39 articles you could probably get five well written unique targeted ones that would still be enough to create a mini-course from. Check the ghostwriting section on my resource page here.

3) Set up a webpage for each article. Monitize the pages.

This is the part where Profitmart works nicely except for one thing. If you set up a bunch of pages the links for all the lessons will all show up on the side. If you don’t want this you could turn off the “show the clickbank keywords” checkbox. Not an ideal solution but it does work.

4) Set up an autoresponder to send out a series of emails for each “lesson”. Each email would have a link to one of the lesson pages.

This is probably the trickiest part of the whole thing. You will need a way to set up a mailing list. There are two main services that people use for this but they both cost money. You can also find scripts for free or a one time fee that will do the job. I currently use getresponse.com for my mailing list. The cost is around $20 a month. I was previously using a free script that I got at sellwide.com. It worked pretty well and it has a built in form generator. The one catch was that when I decided to switch to getresponse I lost a lot of my subscribers because they had to sign up again. If you want to test the waters or are on a tight budget the free script is fine. If you are really serious I would recommend getresponse or Aweber. The paid services also use double opt-in (they send out an email that requires confirmation) and have a bunch of spam pre-checking options. You can also track every time someone clicks a link in your email and it is easier to do one time “broadcasts” to your list. There is also a script called PHP list that you can install through fanastico in your cPanel. It looks like a very full featured autoresponder but I haven’t tried it out so I can’t vouch for it.

5) Set up a sales page with a sign up form for the “mini-course”.

This should probably be set up to show up on your main home page. You could use the technique I outlined in Day 11 to change your site name if you need to. The autoresponder service or software will usually include a form generator. This will generate some html code you can put on your site for people to sign up for your offer. There is also a form generator that you can install through the cPanel interface.

6) Provide an added bonus for signing up.

This one is easy. Just get a PLR or MRR ebook on the topic to give away as a bonus.

7) Set up a Squidoo page for your free newsletter. Put excerpts of the articles on the site. Each teaser should end with a link to read the rest of the article. Another great site for this is Hubpages.

8) You could also find other ways to promote the course. Forums, free classifieds, bumper stickers, article marketing. Even (I dread to say) safelists!

That pretty much covers it. I know this may seem like a pretty big task for many of you but I think it would be well worth the effort. I’m thinking of writing a full ebook tutorial on this plan specific to Profitmart. If this is something you would be interested in please drop me a note here.
