Day 25: Possible Blueprint
I came across an interesting business model today that I think would work nicely for a Profitmart site. This particular case is using dog training so it fits in perfectly with this blog. You could use this approach for any niche you want.
Here’s what I found.
There is a site called http://www.niche-content-packages.com/ that sells PLR article packs. You can buy a package of around 40 PLR articles for about $95. There are a limited number of each package sold. I think they start out with about 240 copies of each package. They have a dog training package with 39 articles and as of today there were 209 of these packages still available. That would mean that there are only 31 versions of this unique article pack floating around the net. They give you a list of titles so I did a bit of searching in Google for the title “dog training styles - part 1″ as I figured that would be pretty unique. I wanted to see how many times this article was showing up. Putting the phrase in quotation marks will return only the pages that match this phrase exactly.
The search came up with only 4 results.
One of them pointed to a Squidoo page at: http://www.squidoo.com/dogtraining1st.
This Squidoo page offers a free email course with lesson titles that were right out of the PLR package I was researching. It looks like he bought the package as a nice shortcut to creating the course. He has a few excerpts from the articles with links to the full article on his “minicourse” site. That’s a great way to tease people into visiting the site.
The free course he is offering is at: http://www.dogtraining1st.com/InnerCircle
When you go to the above site he has a short sales page with a signup form for his “free newsletter”. When you sign up you get the 14 day mini course. As an added bonus you get a free copy of “dog training uncovered” a $67 value! You may recall this product as one of the bonuses I was giving away on the Profitmart site. I think I paid about $2 for the PLR rights to it.
The individual lessons are each on their own page.
Here is an example: http://www.dogtraining1st.com/MiniCourse/day13
These pages are monitized with adsense ads and amazon products.
Let’s do a quick summary of this business blueprint:
- Buy a series of PLR articles on a specific niche topic.
- Set up a webpage for each article. Monitize the pages.
- Set up a sales page with a sign up form for the “mini-course”.
- Provide an added bonus for signing up.
- Set up an autoresponder to send out a series of emails for each “lesson”. Each email would have a link to one of the lesson pages.
- Set up a Squidoo page for your free newsletter. Put excerpts of the articles on the site. Each teaser should end with a link to read the rest of the article.
- You could also find other ways to promote the course. Forums, free classifieds, bumper stickers. Even (I dread to say) safelists!
People signing up for your mini-course newsletter might buy stuff from your monitized pages. The real benefit however is that you will be building up a personal mailing list of people that you know are interested in your niche. You will also be building up a relationship and some credibility with this list by providing quality content up front for free.
You will now be able to market related products to your list. You have a nice warm trusting list of subscribers who are much more likely to bite when you recommend a product.
How could we apply this strategy to a Profitmart site?
Let’s look at that tomorrow.
