Day 7: More Clickbank Products
The plan for today was to use standard Profitmart clickbank feed to quickly generate a listing of doggie related products.
Of course there’s a catch. A few actually.
- I have the same problem I had with the ebay feeds. If I turn on a clickbank feed it is going to be on every page. I don’t want these to show up on my “sales” pages.
- I don’t have any control over the products that show up and sometimes they aren’t even the correct ones.
- The clickbank feed often shows the affiliate description instead of the sales description. Like this:

How can I get around this? I did a bit of searching for a clickbank feed generator and they do exist but I would have to shell out $97 for anything decent. I’m a bit surprised that the Profitmart guys don’t have more options on the clickbank feed since they were pioneers of this type of service. Maybe this blog will inspire them to make the feed more usable.
I can see the appeal of having a “checkbox” approach to this feed but if it doesn’t give me the results I need it’s just not useful enough. I would rather see something where I could enter in a list of clickbank products and have some options in the way I would like them presented.
OK, enough blathering on. How can I solve this and move forward? I could create my own list of clickbank products manually. It would be pretty easy and I could pick and choose the ones I want. For that matter I could mix in other types of affiliate products from Amazon, paydotcom, cafepress, etc. More manual work but at least I could present the selection that I want.
Oh heck. I’m just going to put some more sales pages up there and be done with it. I need to finish this phase so I can get on to generating traffic.
Check out the page: www.workathomejobs4me.com and you will see some new sales pages.

Hi Mike…
I learned about this ProfitMart “adventure” of yours via a link on IMNewsWatch (if I remember correctly).
I am enjoying following your creativity and expertise as applied to ProfitMart.
Thank-you so much for sharing how you are monetizing your ProfitMart site. I’ve been gradually adding content to my site, but I’m not much of a techie. (I’ve been “musing” over my monetizing strategies, as well as, the listing building aspects.)
Have you shared this ProfitMart experiment on the ProfitMart forum somewhere? If so…I didn’t find it in my first quick run thru the latest posts. (I haven’t posted there yet…but need to get started and wanted to add my 2 cents worth of support for the great work you are doing here.)
Many thanks…Rita

Hi Rita,
Thanks for your encouraging comments. They are really appreciated.
I haven’t posted on the Profitmart forum. If you read the “about this blog” you will understand why.
If you do find this helpful I would really appreciate you mentioning something on the forum. This really is meant for people struggling with Profitmart so it would be great if more people knew about it.
cheers … mike

Hi Mike,
I have been a profit mart member for about a year now, and have watched the site evolve from a simple interface to the comparitively advanced and flexible control panel thay have now.
I find the clickbank part is where most of my revenue comes from, and have excellent organic positioning for my keywords. I have a few affiliate referrals, but there is a drop-out to acount for as well. I would say there are between 18 and 23 recurrings for any given month, as new ones come in and some older ones drop off.
I like your idea for more control of the clickbank items, but I do love the screenshots. The text with the items looks like it comes directly from click bank, as the vendors typed it into the fields there I think.
Great blog :>)

Hi mike,
I am not able to view the video, even after downloading the codec. Do i have to install any other media player?

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the feedback. Would you mind sharing your site as an example? I would love to see a successful example of using the affiliate feeds.

Hi Roshan,
I uploaded a flash version. Give that a shot. You will probably have to wait for it to download about 9% before it starts streaming.
